The Arewa Community in Ekiti State has donated an 18-seater Toyota bus and 10 motorcycles towards the re-election bid of the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
Handing over the keys to the Governor in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, the Chairman of the Arewa Community in the State, Alhaji Adamu Imam, stated that the community strongly believe in Fayemi’s vision to transform the State and should be given another term to complete the various developmental projects that are on-going in the State.
Adamu who personally brought the bus and the motorcycles to the Governor’s office was accompanied by his kinsmen who were no fewer than 100 leaders and youths from the Arewa community. They all hailed the Governor when he came to meet them.
“On behalf of the Hausa community in Ekiti State, we are here today to present our donation in support of your second term agenda. In sha Allah, I am here to tell you that we are 100% with you and we pray God will continue to be with us all. Insha Allah, we will achieve our aim. This victory, we shall win it and I know you are a man who can fulfil promises because you re promised in the past and has fulfilled them”, he said.
Receiving the donations, Governor Fayemi thanked the donors and assured that he wont relent in the pursuit of his vision to positively transform the State and “build a much more prosperous” community in the State.
Governor Fayemi urged the Hausa people to see themselves as bonafide members of the State having contributed so much to its growth and development.
“This is a very humbling and pleasant surprise from you and I cannot thank you enough for your support and solidarity in the last three and a half years, and even your support before I came in as governor. We are in this together. Yes you belong to the Arewa community, but you are authentic members of Ekiti State, and you are here to enjoy all the rights and privileges of every Ekiti citizen because you contribute to our economy, peace and progress in this state, and you deserve to also be treated in the way and manner in which every other person who contributes to the growth and development of Ekiti State.
This gesture is an indication that one good term deserves another and one good turn also deserves another. We will continue to live up to our promises to the Arewa community and the areas that we have not fully delivered, I can assure you that we will deliver and we will work with you to build a better, a much more prosperous, healthy community here in Ekiti state”, the Governor assured.
The donations were branded with the logo of the All Progressives Congress and picture of Governor Fayemi.
