Emergency and Fire fighting in Ekiti has received a boost with the distribution of a modern fire fighting truck to each of the fire stations at Ijero, Ikole, Omuo and Aramoko Ekiti.
Handing over the four trucks to the firemen at the Fire Fighting Headquarters in Ado Ekiti, the State Commissioner for Special Duties, Chief Apalara Wole-Adewunmi reiterated the commitment of the Fayemi led administration to the security of lives and property of the people in the state.
The Commissioner said that the provision of the trucks is to enhance efficiency as well as guarantee swift and effective rescue operations and management of disasters.
Assuring that government would ensure proper maintenance of the trucks, Chief Wole-Adewumi added that the fire fighters in the state would be adequately trained and retrained to handle the modern equipments the state government acquired for the department.
He urged the fire fighters in the state to remain dedicated to their duties in order to effectively carry out their noble functions.
