Sports Council Boss Advises Talented Students

The Chairman of the Ekiti State Sports Council, Prince Ade Adetola has advised talented students in the state  not to see sports as an hindrance to the pursuit of  their academic programme.

Speaking at the end of a 3-day handball competition among secondary schools in the state held in Ado Ekiti, Prince Adetola said talented students could effectively combine sporting activities with their studies and achieve their full potentials in both fields of human endeavour.

He described the hand ball competition as a platform for grassroot sports development, stressing that it was organized for the discovery of budding talents among the students.
Adetola commended the organizers and the participating schools for making the event successful.

The Sports Council Chairman lauded the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi for his efforts in the area sports development in the state, particularly the renovation of Oluyemi Kayode Stadium which is gradually becoming a centre of excellence for sporting activities.

At the end of the final competitions, AUD Grammar School, Ado defeated Christ Girls School 5-4 in the Girls category while Christ School, Ado
triumphed in the Boys Category with an 11-8 win against AUD Grammar School  Ado.
