Ado-Ekiti To Wear New Look Soon – Adebayo

Contracts for the rehabilitation of all roads entering Ado, the Ekiti State Capital have been awarded to competent contractors and are at various stages of completion.

The State Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Mr. Sola Adebayo who made this known while briefing newsmen at the Conference Hall, Old Governors Office Ado Ekiti also hinted that other major roads within the metropolis are also receiving Governments attention.

Mr. Adebayo who amounced that the dualisation of the Old Garage-Ojumose and the Atikankan-NITEL-Bapist Church road in the Ado City Centre are yet to commence because the process of payment of compensation to owners of buildings to be demolished along these roads have not be concluded.

He also explained that a total of 39. 35km of Federal Roads and 362.62km of  State Roads are being rehabilitated across the state by the Fayemi-led administration.

The State Government has also procured modern workshop tools for the mechanical department of the works ministry to enable it carry out repairs on both government owned and private vehicles to generate revenue while efforts are also on to refurbish government’s earthmoving equipment which would enable Government to carry out some repair works through direct labour.
