Ekiti State Government To Make Agriculture A Priority

The Fayemi-led administration has reaffirmed its commitment to nurture and grow the transformational agribusiness value chain, that will enhance food security, employment opportunities and empower women and youths in the State.

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Prof. Adio Folayan gave the assurance at the opening ceremony of a two-day Workshop on Optimizing Return on Poultry, Livestock Investment at the Queen’s Hotel, Ado –Ekiti.

The Commissioner stated that the workshop will promote the Fayemi-led administration cardinal program on agriculture adding that it will also give opportunity to access national and international financial grants and aids for participants.

He added that the workshop will also empower the teeming populace at the grassroots and create a reliable source for supplying eggs for the Home Grown School Feeding Programme of the State.

Prof. Folayan who assured the participants of the readiness of the financial partners which include DEID, CBN and USAID to provide
financial management and professional service for them, urged them to make the best use of the opportunity afforded by the Ministry to improve their own lots and the lots of Ekiti people.

The participants were drawn from the sixteen local government areas and from the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development.
