Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi will on Wednesday deliver the 2012 lecture of the Open Society Foundations during its Africa Coordinating Group’s biannual meeting holding in Accra, Ghana between November 7th to 9th .
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, My Olayinka Oyebode, Governor Fayemi will be speaking on “The Challenge of Change: New Opportunities for Equitable Development and Better Governance in Nigeria”. at the event which will draw participants- mainly leadership of Open Society Initiatives from West Africa, East Africa, and Southern Africa.
The Open Society Foundations seek to build vibrant and tolerant societies whose governments are accountable and open to the participation of all people. Its work involves promoting and strengthening the rule of law, and respect for human rights, as well as supporting democratically elected governments and a robust civil society that helps keep government power in check.
