Ekiti State Commissioner for Integration and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mrs. Bunmi Dipo-Salami has reiterated the resolve of the Fayemi led administration to partner with the private sector to achieve a rapidly developed state.
Speaking while receiving officials of the Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND) led by its Executive Director, Mrs. Amy Oyekunle and Programme Coordinator, Mrs. Adepeju Olaniyi on a courtesy visit to her office, Mrs. Dipo-Salami stressed that the collaboration between government and KIND would further enhance development in the state. Mrs. Dipo Salami said the collaboration would further engender harmonious relationship between the people and their elected representatives.
Earlier, the Executive director of KIND, Mrs. Amy Oyekunle disclosed that her organisation has designed an 18 month public accountability project using Ekiti and Ogun State as pilots.
According to her, KIND would work in two top ranking Local government areas and two low ranking LGAs using access to resources, poverty index and available structure for interaction between the electorate and the local governments as indices.
Mrs. Oyekunle said KIND would also help build capacity of elected public officials to interact with the people and capture the needs of the communities in development agenda.
She said the team would work with the Ministry of Integration and Intergovernmental Affairs towards ensuring development and growth at the grassroot level.
