Ekiti State to begin community testing of COVID-19 in Ekiti State – Yaya-Kolade

Ekiti State government has affirmed that it would do everything within its reach to curtail community spread of Covid-19 in Ekiti state.
The commissioner for health and human services Dr. Mojisola Yaya-Kolade made this known while fielding questions from Journalists in her office in Ado Ekiti.

Yaya-Kolade said Ekiti state government has been doing all it could to ensure that the pandemic did not get to the communities in the state; hence community spread is on the check. She appreciated the state Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi for his proactive steps to set up a molecular testing laboratory for the state.

Dr. Mojisola echoed that a total of 505 tests have been done, 245 samples have been taken, 153 tests results have been released 142 turned out negative while 11 came out positive.

The Focal Person of Covid-19 Taskforce in Ekiti State assured that some primary health facilities would be upgraded equipped, renovated, and giving a facelift with the resources that have been generated from donors.
