Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on Wednesday met with top officials of the World Bank, at its headquarters in Washington DC, USA.
The meeting which is a follow-up to previous meetings with the officials of the international financial institution in Abuja and Ado-Ekiti in February and March, had in attendance the World Bank President (Africa), Mrs Oby Ezekwesili, the Bank’s Country Representative in Nigeria, Ms. Marie-Francoise Marie-Nelly, and Director for Core Operations Services (Africa Region), Mr. Ed Olowo-Okere.
Governor Fayemi, at the meeting which took place shortly after the Agriculture Investment Forum in Washington DC, presented the development agenda of his administration and sought the support of the bank in the actualization of its goal of eradicating poverty in the state.
Reports of previous meetings with the Bank’s officials in Nigeria were also presented at the meeting, while areas of attention and possible assistance were evaluated
