Edo State Governor,Comrade Adams Oshiomole has joined other Governors to commiserate with Ekiti State Governor,Dr. Kayode Fayemi whose mother, Madam Dorcas Fayemi, passed on last Sunday.
In his condolence message dated 17th April, 2012, the Governor said the news of Fayemi’s mother’s demise was “received with great shock”, saying that though Madam Fayemi was advanced in years, the Government and people of Edo State “appreciate the depth of your grief, knowing how affectionately close you were to your mother”.
Oshiomole wrote: “Certainly, the Fayemi family and Ekiti State have lost a pillar of Christian propriety and a fountain of humanism, who dispensed goodwill so eagerly. However, much as we must mourn Mama, we believe that she deserves to be celebrated in deserved tribute to her laudable life as a wife, mother, devout Christian and an exemplary member of her community”.
“Our consolation is the cherished memories of her worthy sojourn on earth and her indelible legacies as a wife and mother. Foremost among her legacies as a mother is a great son of prestigious value not only to Ekiti State but also to the larger Nigerian nation.
We pray that God should lay His consoling hand on the family and on all those whom Mrs. Fayemi had touched. We also join you in prayers to our Heavenly Father to grant her eternal rest in His hallowed company as deserving of a true child of God.”
