The April Edition of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise will hold on Saturday 24th April, 2021 between the hours of 7am-10am.
According to a press release from the office of the State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Barrister Iyabo Fakunle Okieimen, there would be restriction of movement during the exercise.
The Commissioner charged the general public to clean their environment during the exercise, particularly in view of the prevailing Covid-19 global pandemic.
She also urged residents and shop owners to clean up and excavate the drainages in front of their buildings and dump their refuse properly.
Okieimen who said the theme for this month exercise is: CLEAN YOUR ENVIRONMENT FOR HEALTHY LIVING, directed all government workers to clean the environment of their offices on Friday 23rd April, 2021
before leaving for the weekend.
She cautioned people in the State against violating the restriction order stressing that no vehicular movement would be allowed except for those on essential duties while markets would not be allowed to open
before 10am.
“Anyone that contravenes the State Environmental laws would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the extant laws,” she warned.
