The Ekiti State Government would not tolerate any shoddy job from any contractor. The Chairman, Projects Monitoring Committee, Chief Ranti Adebisi made this known while inspecting 5 kilometers road awarded by Ikole local government in compliance with the directive of Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Chief Adebisi who frowned at the slow pace of work on the projects explained that the contractor did virtually nothing in the area.
Mr. Kayode Alabi who is an indigene of Usin – Ekiti, thanked Governor Fayemi for remembering Ikole Local Government Areas in his developmental effort, urged the contractors to brace up before he forthcoming raining season.
In related development, at Moba Local Government Area, the Chairman has advised the contractors handling road projects in the state to employ the local artisans in benefiting communities as part of efforts to improve the economy of rural areas in the state.
The PMC boss who explained that Governor Fayemi is very passionate above the development of the state, urged the contractors to complete the projects on schedule.
Responding, board member of Public Works Commission, Mr. Sina Awelewa. Who represented the contractor highlighted the problems they are facing to include, inadequate funds and in cooperative attitude of some communities.
