Ekiti State has one of the best tourism corridors in the World. The renowned tourism producer on radio and developer of “This Land Nigeria” on the Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria, Mrs. Anthonia Mbanefo, made the remark while on a tour of tourist attractions in the State.
She noted that Ekiti State is endowed with tourist sites which if properly managed would be a veritable source of revenue to the government.
Mrs. Mbanefo expressed delight at the sight of mysterious giant-sized- cat fishes at Erin River in Erinjiyan Ekiti. An indigene of the town, Chief Alade said it was a taboo for any resident of the town to catch any fish in the river because of the belief that the fish protects nursing mothers in the town.
At the Ikogosi Warm Spring, Mrs. Mbanefo could not hide her excitement at the scene were the cold and warm water oozing out of the hills meet with each maintaining its thermal identity.
Mrs. Mbanefo also marvelled at the great work of nature at Arinta Water Falls in Ipole – Iloro where the water flows from the rocky hills from about 50 metres high to a pool of clear glistering water.
A spokesman of the community, Honourable Tola Oladele said the water had been in existence since the 17th century, adding that it has power to heal ailments.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism Development, Engineer Segun Ologunleko, who conducted the visitor round the tourist sites, described the Ikogosi Warm Spring as only one of its kind in the World.
