Ekiti Set To Introduce Haulage Fees To Shore Up IGR

Ekiti State Government has hired the services of a consultant to assist in the collection of haulage fees from transporters of stone aggregates,
gravel and sand to boost the state’s internally generated revenue.
The State Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Cooperatives, Otunba Reim Bodunrin disclosed this when he held a meeting with quarry operators in his office in Ado.
Otunba Bodunrin who called on the quarry operators in the state to close ranks and come under a unified association stressed that coming
together under an umbrella would strengthen them and wipe out illegal operations in the states.
According to the Commissioner, henceforth, any quarry operator granted operating licence by the Federal Government  to operate in the
State must make himself known to the State Government and would in turn be introduced to the community where mining/quarry operations
would be carried out.
He assured that the State Government would continually strive to make the state investment friendly to enhance socio economic
development.
