Ekiti To Procure 100 Transformers To Boost Power Supply

Ekiti State Government is set to take delivery of another batch of 100 transformers to further boost electricity supply across the three
senatorial districts in the State.
Special Adviser to the State Governor on Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Mr. Kayode Jegede made this known during a village square
meeting on the completed rural electrification project at Ilupeju-Ijan in Aiyekire Local Government Area of the State.
Mr. Jegede who disclosed that the State government has completed electrification projects in five other communities in less than two
years said that the goal of the Fayemi – administration is to establish optimum communities that will improve the quality of life of citizens and attract maximum investments with the provision of electricity and other basic infrastructure.
The Special Adviser listed the communities where electrification projects have been completed to include Irele, Oke-Ako and Otunja in Ikole LGA, Ilemeso in Oye LGA, and Omisanjana in Ado LGA.

According to him, other electrification projects under construction include those of pheIyemero, Aba Osun, Government Science College Emure, Eda-Ile, Odo Uro and Aba Fatunla.
The Onijan of Ijan-Ekiti, Oba Oyewole Fadahunsi who spoke at the occasion noted that Ilupeju-Ijan which has been in existence since
1951 has not enjoyed electricity up to the present moment.
He Commended the State Government for the gesture and pledged the support of his people to the Fayemi – led administration. Oba Fadahunsi who hailed government’s decision to hand over completed projects to Committees pledged that his people will protect all
Government installations in the area from vandalisation.
The monarch however appealed to the State Government to repair the borehole in the community to complement water supply.
