1. EXCO APPROVED IMPLEMENTATION OF YEAR 2023 EKITI BERAP PROGRESS REPORT.
Ekiti State Executive Council approved the Year 2023 Business Enabling Reforms Action plan (BERAP) for implementation.
The Council stressed its readiness to continue participating in the World Bank State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) programme and had successfully met the criteria for the Year 2023 Business Enabling Reform Action Plan (BERAP).
SABER is a 3-year (2023-2025) performance-based intervention jointly designed by the World Bank and the Presidential Enabling Business Council (PEBEC) Secretariat, with support from the federal Ministry of Finance, Budget & National planning (FMFBNP), the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) and the State Commissioners for Finance Forum of Nigeria.
2. EKITI STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL APPROVED APPOINTMENT OF NEW OLOSI OF OSI EKITI.
The State Executive Council approved the appointment of Barrister Stephen Adegboyega Alabi as the new Olosi of Osi Ekiti in Ido Osi Local Government Area of the State.
The provision of the Chiefs Law (2012) was strictly adhered to in the selection of Barrister Stephen Adegboyega Alabi from the Arubiojo Ruling House as the Olosi of Osi Ekiti.
The traditional stool became vacant on 5th August, 2021 following the demise of Oba Adewole Agunbiade from the Akombo ruling House.
An accomplished broadcaster, veteran journalist, Public Relations Consultant and legal Practitioner, Prince Alabi holds LL.B from the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, BL from the Nigeria Law School, Abuja and LL.M from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. He also holds a National Diploma (OND) from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism.
3. EXCO APPROVED APPOINTMENT OF PRINCE BAYODE AYENI AS NEW OLU OF IYEMERO
The State Executive Council also approved the appointment of Prince (Ambassador) Bayode Akinsanmi Ayeni from the Onitedo Ruling House as Olu of lyemero Ekiti in Ikole Local Government Area of the State.
Prince Bayode Ayeni obtained B.A (Hons) in International Relations From Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, M.A Political Science from Columbia University, New York, NY, Diploma In Diplomacy from Columbia University, New York, NY, and Diploma In Manpower Budgeting from the Royal Institute of Public Administration, London, England.
He succeeds Oba Ebenezer Agboola Ogungbemi from llisa Ruling House who passed away on 23rd April, 2021.

4. EXCO APPROVED APPOINTMENT OF PRINCE BABALOLA ADEBOMI BABATUNDE AS NEW ALARAROMI OF ARAROMI EKITI
Exco approved appointment of Prince Babalola Adebomi Odimulele Ruling House as the new Alararomi of Araromi Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Areas of the State.
The provision of the Chiefs Law (2012) was strictly adhered to in the selection of Prince Babalola Adebomi Odimulele as Alararomi of Araromi Ekiti.
Prince Adebomi Odimulele succeeds Oba Caleb Adeoye from the Falomo Ruling House who passed away on 18th November, 2021.
The State Executive Council authorized the publication of the legal notice of all three appointments in the State Government Gazette.
5. EKITI STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL APPROVED ESTABLISHMENT OF PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOL BOARD
The Ekiti State Executive Council approved the presentation of a Bill on the establishment of the Public Secondary School Board to the Ekiti State House of Assembly for legislative processing and subsequent passage into law.
The proposed Board when finally passed into law will perform the following functions:
i. Management of Public Senior Secondary Schools in Ekiti State;
ii. Appointment, confirmation of appointment, re-absorption, promotion, posting, transfers, discipline, retirement, pension and termination of appointment of staff of the Board;
iii. Payment of salaries and allowances of the employees of the Board based on the scheme of service approved by the State Government;
iv. Ensuring that the minimum standard of public secondary schools, as may be prescribed from time to time by the appropriate authority, are complied with;
v. Organizing regular induction courses, seminars and workshops for its teaching and non-teaching staff: training and re-training of teaching and non-teaching staff;
vi. Disbursing funds accruing to it from both Federal and State Government sources;
vii. Serve as an appellate body for petitions in respect of matters provided for in this law; and
viii. Perform other functions as may be assigned to it from time to time by the Governor and the Commission.
6. TERMINATION OF CONTRACT FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF AWO-ARA-IJERO EKITI ROAD
The State Executive Council again approved the termination and re-award of the contract for the reconstruction of Awo-Ara-Ijero Ekiti Road.
The contract for the reconstruction of Awo-Ara-Ijero Ekiti road was awarded to Messrs. RCF Nigeria Limited on 25th February, 2022 at a sum of N2,770,261,438.38 (two billion, seven hundred and seventy million, two hundred and sixty one thousand, four hundred and thirty eight naira, thirty eight kobo only). However, the contractor having collected the notification of the contract award wrote a letter to the Ministry on 3rd March, 2022, stating that the company would not be able to execute the project at the amount as it was too low to the amount quoted for the job in its Bill of measurement and evaluation (BEME). The Ministry waited for over a month, despite the seven-day deadline stated in the contract award letter without receiving any acceptance letter from the contractor. Therefore, the Ministry sought approval to terminate and re-award the contract.
The project was re-advertised and was awarded to Messrs. Metro Civil Engineering Construction Limited on 4th October, 2022 at the sum of N2,762,317,183.78 (two billion, seven hundred and sixty two million, three hundred and seventeen thousand, one hundred eighty three naira, seventy eight kobo only). However, the contractor did not mobilize to the site since October, 2022 till date and could not proffer sufficient reason for his action.
The State Exco considered the importance of the road as the only route that connects Ekameta communities to their Headquarter (Ijero Ekiti), its reconstruction and maintenance are crucial for transportation of agricultural produce, economic and social well-being of the areas and approved the termination re-award of the contract.
7. STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL APPROVED PAYMENT OF N69.6MILLION COUNTERPART FUND FOR RENOVATION OF EKSDHSMA WAREHOUSE
Ekiti State Executive Council approved payment of N69,625,000.00 as 15% counterpart fund for the renovation of the State Drugs and health Supplies Management Agency (EKSDHSMA) through the State Ministry of Health and Human services.
Ekiti State was recently selected among 21 States for warehouse renovation to pharmaceutical grade standard, under global initiatives in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health.
The Development is in reflection of the commitment of Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and ensuring healthcare access for all citizens.
8. EXCO APPROVED N60MILLION CONSULTANCY SERVICE FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF INDOOR SPORT HALL.
The State Executive Council approved the sum of N60Million as consultancy fee for the establishment of Ekiti State Indoor Sport Hall which is a brain child of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The project aims to engage and empower Ekiti State youth through various sporting activities which aligns with his administration agenda on youth development and job creation.
Exco approved the engagement of Messers Designcore Consults based on its exceptional performance on previous projects in the State. The Consultant is expected to prepare the Architectural Concept Design and Construction Development (Architectural, Structural, mechanical, Electrical Drawings and Quantities Surveying Services) for the proposed Indoor Sport Hall.
9. EXCO ADOPTED FOOD SECURITY COMMITTEE REPORT
The State Executive Council received and adopted the report of the Food Security Committee that was constituted on 13th March, 2024 to study the food system in in the State and come up with recommendations to address food insecurity.
The State Executive Council had set up the committee to curb hardship of lack of food and adequate nutrition.
Exco subsequently approved immediate and medium term steps to collaborate with farmers, market women, traditional rulers and other stakeholders to boost food production in the state using modern mechanized systems of farming, structured aggregation/storage platforms and secured farming environment.
