Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has redeemed his pledge to fund the education of Aderonke Afolalu, daughter of late President of the State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE).

Afolalu and two others died in a ghastly motor accident along Akure –Owo-Benin road on March 27 while on their way to attend a conference in Benin City, Edo State. The Governor had at Afolalu’s funeral service promised to take responsibility for Aderonke’s education in honour of the service that her father had rendered before his demise.

Presenting her with a sum of money as her school fee for the 2012 session, the Governor urged her to devote her attention on her academics so as to do the family and the State proud.

Fayemi restated his commitment to supporting the family till Aderonke graduates. Aderonke is a 300-level Micro-biology student of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti.

Responding on behalf of the family, the deceased’s wife, Mrs. Adenike Afolalu thanked the Governor for fulfilling his promise to the family and prayed that God continue  to support  the Fayemi-led administration.
