Mrs Omotayo Adeola has said the forthcoming Ekiti State Trade Fair 2024 holding between 9th and 14th December 2024 would promote innovation, entrepreneurship and also provide residents of the State a golden opportunity to purchase high-quality products directly from manufacturers at factory prices.
The Commissioner who made the assertion in Ado-Ekiti while featuring on Ekiti Loni/Ekiti Today, a live audience participation programme on radio said major manufacturing companies,
business owners, investors and producers of consumer goods from across Nigeria including Dangote, Nigeria Flour Mills Ltd, Promasidor Nigeria,Cadbury Nigeria PLC ,
7UP Bottling Company and PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc
have signified intention to take part in 6-Day fair holding at the Permanent Trade Fair Complex, Old Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti.
She said the trade fair with the theme “Empowering Businesses for Sustainable Economic Growth” would among other things promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment opportunities among investors and the people of the State.
The Commissioner reiterated that the trade fair is designed to cater for a wide range of interests, featuring products from various sectors, including food and beverages, textiles, electronics, household items, agricultural tools and much more noting that the people of the State and attendees will not only enjoy significant discounts but also have the opportunity to explore the latest innovations and trends across industries.
She also noted that “manufacturers will be bringing their goods straight from their production lines to the fairground, assuring that buyers can access items at company prices without additional retail markups.”
Adeola urged residents to take full advantage of the event, stressing that the fair would go a long way in fostering economic development and business partnership, open up new markets and not just a platform for buying and selling.
She said the exhibition would also be a platform for celebration of entrepreneurship and creativity and a unique space for local businesses to thrive while allowing residents to benefit from cost-effective shopping that would bring prosperity to Ekiti people in the quickest possible way.
She disclosed that participants from the 16 local Government Areas of the State would have display stands adding that each of the councils would also have special days for the people of the council areas areas to celebrate at the fair.
Speaking on the N1Billion EKSG-BOSAK MFB Micro Credit Fund recently launched by Governor Oyebanji, the Commissioner described the Programme as another major step by the present administration in the State towards strengthening Micro, and Small scale Enterprises in the State.
She explained that the pilot phase of the programme recorded great success since it began two years ago with high rate of repayment of credit facilities granted to the beneficiaries.
Adeola said it is the spectacular performance of beneficiaries of the loan scheme particularly their high repayment rate that prompted Governor Oyebanji to inject an additional N500 million into the scheme.
She disclosed that the EKSG-BOSAK MFB Micro Credit programme has embedded education loans and health insurance benefits to enhance the quality of life of beneficiaries.
Also speaking on the radio programme, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Bosak Holdings, the company partnering the State Government on the N1 Billion EKSG-BOSAK MFB Micro Credit Fund, Dr. Kolade Bello applauded the commitment of the Oyebanji Administration to poverty alleviation through the programme.
He disclosed that the programme which began in the Ado-Ekiti in 2022 would soon be expanded to accommodate beneficiaries in Ikere and Ikole Local Governments
Bello disclosed that EKSG-BOSAK MFB Micro Credit scheme also provides education loans and health insurance benefits to enhance the quality of life of beneficiaries.
