Councils in the state are to embark on another set of 5-kilometer road project after the completion of the first phase of the project totalling 80km spread across the 16 Local Government Areas of Ekiti State.
The Chairman of the State Projects Monitoring Committee, Chief Ranti Adebisi made this known while supervising the 5 kilometre road project
in Ado Local Government Area of the state.
Chief Adebisi who commended the contractor handling the 5 kilometre roads project in the local government area for doing a quality job, however frowned at the slow pace of work by the company.
The Olori Awo of Okeila, Ado commended Governor Kayode Fayemi for giving the state capital a modern outlook and advised him not to be distracted by idle talks of the opposition.
In a related development, the PMC boss has urged the contractor handling 5 kilometre roads in Ekiti West Local Government Area to prove that, he is up to the task.
While frowning at the contractor for only concentrating on some communities at the expense of the others, the Chairman advised him to
employ more personnel to enhance quick delivery of the road project.
According to Chief Adebisi, the present administration would not tolerate shoddy jobs noting that projects in the state would be properly monitored to ensure strict compliance to the various contractual agreements.
The site Engineer, Engr. Adewale Bakare who noted that the people in the communities are friendly, urged government to release more funds
to enable the company increase their pace of work.
Also at Ijero Local Government Area, the Chairman frowned at the slow pace of work in the area saying the government would not hesitate to
sanction any erring contractor. The Ajana of Ayegunle-Ekiti, Chief Joseph Arigidi who commended Governor Fayemi for his efforts at transforming the Local Government Area advised Ekiti people to support Fayemi’s administration.
