Ekiti State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Dr.Eniola Ajayi has charged Area Education Officers and Education Secretaries in the State to produce accurate data of pupils for this year’s annual school census, coming up on Tuesday 12th June 2012.
Dr Ajayi gave the charge while declaring open a- one- day training workshop organised for the area Education Officers and Education Secretaries from the 16 local government areas of the state.
The Commissioner described the exercise as an avenue of getting adequate information for proper planning to achieve the Millennium Development Goals of education for all and the 8-point agenda of the present administration.
According to her, this year’s exercise would take a new shape as the exercise will be extended to Technical Schools in the State to make it all encompassing.
She charged the officers to closely monitor the exercise to enable them get accurate data of the pupils.
Dr. Ajayi who stressed the importance of the exercise solicited the cooperation of teachers, students and other relevant stake holders for the success of the programme.
One of the participants Oluropo Fatoye who spoke on behalf of others assured that they will not betray the trust reposed in them.
