EKSG To Spend N180 Million On Renovation Of Public Schools

In a bid to solve the problem  of dilapidate Infrastructure in public secondary schools the State, the Ekiti State Government is to spend over N180 million on the renovation of dilapidated  School building in the State.

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Eniola Ajayi who made this known at a meeting with  school principals in Ado, said each of the State’s 177  public secondary schools will receive a sum of one million naira for the renovation of infrastructure .
Dr. Ajayi who expressed dismay  over the infrastructural decay of some schools  in the State stressed the readiness of state government to rescue the situation.
The Commissioner stressed the commitment of the present administration to lift education to an enviable height adding that government was making concerted effort to develop all the schools in the State.
According to her the State Government will release N1 million naira to each of the 177  public secondary schools in the state to enable them carry out the project through their school based Management Committees.

She charged the Principals and chairmen of School Based Management Committees to be transparent and accountable in the cause of implementing the projects stressing  that  successful implementation of then initial  projects would  attract more fund  for other projects.
Dr. Ajayi who noted that government could not handle the project of revamping infrastructure alone called on well meaning Nigerians to support the State Government  in  providing solutions to numerous infrastructural problems militating against schools in the State.

She solicited the support of the Principals and people of Ekiti State to enable government achieve its various laudable objectives towards changing face of education in the State.
