Ekiti Employs 10 Physically Challenged Indigenes

Ekiti State Government has employed ten physically challenged persons into the State Civil Service in the past one year in line with the policies of the Fayemi – administration.

The Chairman of the Ekiti State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Afolabi Ogunlayi made this known in his address at the opening of a day retreat organised for the Staff of the Commission in Ado – Ekiti also disclosed that a total of 2,633 Senior Civil Servants were promoted for Year 2009 while 1,264 were promoted for year 2010 to clear the arrears of promotions left undone by the previous administration.

Ogunlayi said that 6 disciplinary cases were handled during the period.   According to him, the Commission had successfully conducted examinations through the Administration Staff College of Nigeria, (ASCON), for prospective Administrative Officers.

He explained that the 3-day Retreat would change the attitude of the workers to purposeful and result – focused engagement.   He commended Governor Kayode Fayemi for his efforts to transform the State Civil Service into an efficient engine room for implementation of government’s policies.
