He disclosed that the State government is already taking steps on the Independent Power Production (IPP)  that will service areas like the University Teaching Hospital, State Secretariat Ekiti State University campus, Ureje Dam and other public buildings in the State capital.

The Special Adviser noted that before the end of the year, the StateGovernment will sign an agreement with some contractors to pilot the IPP in the State with the belief that the scheme will ensure lower electricity tariff and ensure steady supply of power.

In a related development, the Special Adviser has appealed to students of the satellite campus of the Federal Polytechnic , Ado to exercise restraint and patience in pressing home their demands.

He said the transformer located within the school environment was vandalised by some unknown persons last year and that the State Government bore the expenses to replace the stolen cables.

Mr. Jegede said the new transformer installed at Fabian Avenue is to ease the load on the transformer at the School and that efforts are in top gear to address other challenges being faced by the students.

He however appealed to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria to (PHCN) provide services to the people they are meant to serve.
