Private and Public building developers in Ekiti State have been enjoined to familiarise themselves with the urban and regional panning laws of the state to enable them conform with the approved standards.
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Physical, Urban and Regional Planning, Mr. Ebunlomo Awoyemi who made this known in Ado-Ekiti said the call was imperative as deviations from the standard approved by the State government will henceforth attract sanctions.
Awoyemi pointed out that all property developers should obtain building plans and fence permits from the State Ministry of Physical, Urban and Regional Planning before embarking on construction.
The Commissioner who revealed the plans of the government to develop the base map of Ado-Ekiti to enable it become a befitting State Capital that every Ekiti indigene will be proud of stressing that the urban renewal programme of the State Government is a bold step towards
achieving this objective .
The Commissioner also advised members of the public to desist from encroaching on the government or other peoples properties to avoid unnecessary
litigations that could endanger the relative peace currently being enjoyed in the state.
Awoyemi appealed to residents of the State to embrace the developmental efforts of the State Government including its Urban Renewal Programme by accommodating and adjusting to the new development.
