The Ekiti State Government has approved the renovation of three fire stations in the State.
The Commissioner for Special Duties Dr. Wole Olugboji who made this known at a forum in Ado-Ekiti said the three stations at Ado, Ikere, and Ikole would be renovated and upgraded to meet modern day challenges.
The commissioner said that the Fire Station at Ijero-Ekiti would be renovated next year, stressing that Government intends to establish new fire points at Ita-Wure, and Omuo-Ekiti to complement the four existing fire stations in the State.
Speaking on the on-going recruitment of fire officers, the commissioner said that the next stage of the exercise will be the
oral interview expected to take place within the next one week adding that only qualified candidates will be employed.
Dr. Olugboji also said that Mr. Governor has approved an intensive training programme for those to be selected in the interview by the professionals who are specialists in fire services.
The Commissioner announced that candidates who participated in the test should check on the Ministry for their scores.
