Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has extolled the virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad whom he described as the true messenger from Allah.
The Governor in a message to mark Eid-el-Maoulud, – the commemoration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, said the coming to the world of the great prophet was remarkable and significant to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Fayemi explained that the Almighty Allah sent Prophet Muhammad to the world to bring humanity closer to Him and show the path to true worship.
Prophet Muhammad, according to him, was a study in humility and selflessness among his people the principle which he taught his adherents through his writings in the Hadith.
The governor equally described the Prophet as an epitome of truth, justice, equity and fair play who abhorred unrighteousness.
He noted that Prophet Muhammad dedicated his life to humanity and defended the defenceless whom he identified with despite his divine qualities and attributes.
Fayemi urged Muslims to emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad whom he described as the “Light of Islam”.
The Governor admonished them to use the opportunity presented by the occasion to pray for Nigeria to overcome the prevailing security challenges in the country.
He described Muslims as “important stakeholders in his administration’s quest to make Ekiti great in the comity of states in Nigeria.”
