Ekiti State Government has commenced the computer training of the second batch of teachers in Public Secondary Schools.
A statement from the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology said that the training was organised in conjunction with Samsung Africa Limited.
Noting that almost 30,000 laptop computers have been supplied and distributed to students in realization of the vision of the Fayemi led administration to make computer available on the desk of every pupil in the state by the year 2014, the statement reiterated the resolve of the state government to ensure a conducive learning and teaching environment in the state public schools.
According to the statement, almost 12,000 laptop computers have been distributed to teachers in the state to make them ICT compliant and duly mobilize the computer as a teaching aid.
The statement assured that distribution of laptop computers is a continuous exercise which would be executed on batches, adding that others would receive theirs as soon as possible.
