February 10, 2013

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has disclosed that the State has, in the last two years, attracted investments worth over ten billion naira (N10 Billion).
The Governor made this disclosure at the weekend while commissioning four-star hotel in Ado Ekiti.
Dr. Fayemi said though the State is ranked 35th in the federal allocation and sometimes referred to as a remote hinterland, investors now believe in the vision of the present administration to make the State a choice destination for investment.

He said that the tourism and hospitality industry contributed about N3billion naira of the N10 billion naira investment.
While stating that the new hotel would serve as a catalyst for other thriving investments in the state, the Governor said his administration will not be deterred in vigorously making the state the most attractive destination for relaxation and holidays as a catalyst for investment and virile economic activities.

Dr Fayemi who noted that  Ikogosi Resort is another home for tourists and investors, asserted that business succeeds in a conducive environment where people get comfort and are assured of their safety.
He appealed to investors, especially Ekiti indigenes to invest in Ekiti State even as he assured that government would give them patronage that would make their businesses thrive.

Meanwhile, the management of the new hotel, Midas Hotel, has donated a 300KVA transformer to the host Adeun community to complement the effort of the Dr Fayemi-led administration in giving communities Transformers to boost electricity supply.
The Chairman of the hotel, Mr Clement Olowokande said 300metres of road has also been constructed with interlocking tiles so as to ease transportation and make the community better for the residents.
