PRESS RELEASE: Fayemi Leaves For SA, Europe, US

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi departs the shores of Nigeria today on official visits to South Africa, Belgium and the United States, where he will undertake speaking engagements at some global arena.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Olayinka Oyebode, Fayemi’s first major port of call is South Africa, where he will be speaking at the Ernst and Young Strategic Growth Forum holding at the International Convention Centre, Cape Town, on Thursday March 7th. The Governor will join other international political and economic leaders to discuss the theme: “The Infrastructure Deficit and Opportunities in Africa”.

Governor Fayemi will also be speaking at the Crans Montana Forum for Africa, holding in Brussels, Belgium, on Friday, March 8th. The theme of the forum is: “The Major Global Challenge for Africa: Security and its Impact on International Relations and Economy”.

On Monday, March 11th, Governor Fayemi will be the Guest Speaker at the Weatherhead Centre for International Affairs, Harvard University on the topic, ‘From the Barricades of Resistance to the Verandah of Power: Personal Reflections on Democracy, Governance and State Reconstruction in Nigeria.”

On Wednesday, March 13th, the Governor  will be in South Africa to receive Samsung’s award :  ‘Best Governor in Africa for an Outstanding Educational Project’.  The award would be given at Samsung’s Africa Forum Conference holding in Cape Town, South Africa.

Governor Fayemi will return to Nigeria on March 14th
