The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Ayodeji Daramola has advised Law Students in the Ekiti State University (EKSU) to be diligent in their studies and work very hard in order to achieve success.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti during the Annual Law Dinner/Award Night organised by the Law Students’ Society of (EKSU), Justice Daramola stressed that there is no substitute for hard work and diligence, adding that Law which he called a noble profession has no room for lazy and indolent students.
The Chief Judge who was conferred with an award of excellence by the students’ body, instituted two annual awards for diligence and academic excellence in the Faculty of Law of the Ekiti State University in furtherance to what he said was giving much to whom much is expected.
The award included a sum of two hundred thousand naira (N200, 000.00) to the best graduating student in the Faculty, a sum of one hundred thousand naira to the best student in the Law of Evidence while the faculty received four Barrister wigs and gowns, one Bench wig and gown as well as one Full-Bottom wig for its moot and mock court.
In his remarks, the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi who spoke through his Chief of Staff, Chief Yemi Adaramodu commended the organizers of the event for what he described as a laudable programme.
Chief Adaramodu also donated a sum of two hundred thousand naira (N200, 000.00) to the best student in Constitutional Law.
Other award recipients at the event was the Wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Yemi Adaramodu, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Wale Fapohunda, Prof. Patrick Oladele, the Dean, Faculty of Law, Prof. Ifedayo Akomolede and Chief Biodun Akin – Fasae among others.
