Ekiti State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Kehinde Ojo has assured teachers in the State Special Schools on temporary appointment that they would soon be considered for permanent employment.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti during a meeting with the executive members of the Ekiti State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET), Mr. Ojo said that the present administration is committed to the welfare of teachers, adding that prompt payment of salaries and other entitlements is a priority in the present dispensation.
Stressing the commitment of the Fayemi led administration to provide conducive and enabling learning environment to all schools in the state, the Education boss said the state government has approved the renovation of special schools at Ikoro-Ekiti which is almost completed. He assured them that government will organise more training workshop in order to boost their productivity while their demand will be looked into.
Earlier, the Chairman of NASET, Mr. Amos Afolabi commended Governor Kayode Fayemi for providing conducive environment for both students and teachers in public schools.
Mr. Afolabi who appealed for employment of more teachers also solicited for manpower training programme for all categories of special educators and review of feeding and maintenance grant to the special schools.
