Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi and the Senator representing Ekiti Central, Babafemi Ojudu have extolled the legacies of the late Alhaji Ademola Fashola, father of Lagos State Governor, who died on Monday.
Speaking on Tuesday at the burial of Alhaji Fashola at the Ikoyi cemetery in Lagos, Governor Fayemi said the deceased lived a great life and left behind legacies that are worthy of emulation.
The Governor who charged all and sundry to live positive lives that could make people commend them after they die, added that the deceased was an example of excellence and commitment to humanity and the country.
“Papa lived a great life and we are proud of him. His life is worthy of emulation. His life preached a message that we should let the world have positive things to say about us. We should worry about what will be said about us”, Fayemi said.
He stressed that the late Fashola had the legacy of truth, hardwork and compassion to his environment as seen in his larger goal as a newspaper man in the Daily Times and leader in his community; expressing optimism that his children would continue in his legacies for the development of the country.
Also speaking at the event, Erelu Fayemi said the deceased served God with commitment and every sense of service. The Wife of Governor prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
Also at the event, the Senator representing Ekiti Central, Babafemi Ojudu commended the deceased for producing a proud son in Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) whom he said reflects the disciplined nature of his late father.
Ojudu said the demise of Fashola at the time of Ramadan indicates, as some Muslim faithful believe, that he would make paradise and rest With his God.
