The Commissioner for Local Government Affairs Barrister Paul Omotoso has emphasized the need for Communities in Ekiti to embrace peace to
enhance development.
Barrister Omotoso who stated this at a meeting he held with representatives of Iye and Ijesamodu communities from Ilejemeje Local Government Area on the location of a proposed modern market, stressed that development can only thrive where there is peace.
The Commissioner who spoke through the Permanent Secretary of theMinistry, Mr. Ayodeji Ajayi, reiterated the commitment of Government
to evenly develop the grassroots.
Barrister Omotoso added that the decision to locate the proposed market between Iye-Ekiti and Ijesamodu communities was to make it
accessible and beneficial to both communities.
The Commissioner advised communities laying claims to the disputed land to consult the State Boundary Commission for amicable resolution.
Present at the meeting were the Chairman Ilejemeje Local Government Area, Prince Bamgboye Adegoroye, Oniye of Iye, Oba J. A. Adeleye Oni,
Onijesamodu, Oba (Dr.) S. A. Osatuyi, Chiefs and other prominent indigenes of the two communities.
