2,250 women drawn from five local government areas of Ekiti State will be given a total sum of 375million naira in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday 4th September, 2013 during the official National Launch of the Conditional Cash Transfer Scheme (CCT).
The five selected local government areas that will benefit from the first phase of the scheme are Irepodun/Ifelodun, Ise/Orun, Ido/Osi, Ikere and Ilejemeje.
A statement from the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on MDGs disclosed that each of the beneficiaries will also get a cell phone and SIM card supplied by the Federal Government to facilitate the e-methodology.
According to the statement, each beneficiary will earn a monthly stipend of five thousand naira (5,000) for a period of one year after which they will receive One hundred thousand naira (100,000.00) each to be invested in Agric related enterprise.
The statement added that the event will be graced by the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi; his deputy, Professor Modupe Adelabu; the Senior Special Assistant to the President on MDGs, Dr. (Mrs) Precious Kalamba Gbeneol; members of the State Executive Council; top government functionaries, local government caretaker chairmen, traditional rulers and Non-governmental organizations among others
