Ekiti State Government has said that it would encourage the re- introduction of voluntary organizations to public schools in the state.
The State Commissioner for Education, Mr. Kehinde Ojo made this known in Ado- Ekiti while playing host to the Executive Council of the state chapter of the Red Cross Society.
Mr. Ojo lamented that youths have departed from the culture of their forefathers stressing that organizations like the Red Cross should be encouraged to assist in tailoring them back to appreciating their cultural heritage.
The Commissioner expressed confidence in the support of the Red Cross Organisation to achieving discipline among the younger generation and securing the future of the society. He therefore assured that government would continue to partner the society in its quest to improve the lots of the people.
Earlier in his address, the State Chairman of the Society, Mr. Felix Adeojo expressed appreciation to the state government for its continued support. Mr. Adeojo said that the provision of facilities for the annual youth camp for the organization was commendable.
He also lauded the allocation of 2 plots of land at subsidized rate for the organization.
The Red Cross boss however appealed for more support to enhance the success of the lofty objectives of the organizations.
