In a bid to engage State resources to develop competitive Commercial Agriculture/food sector, Ekiti State Government is set to hold an Agric/business forum tagged ‘Agbeloba Agribusiness Forum’ at the Ikogosi warm spring Resort between 29th and 30th October 2013.
The forum which is the maiden edition of public private dialogue platform bringing together stakeholders in agribusiness to discuss critical issues that will facilitate commercial and mechanised agricultural operations, using a private sector approach. As a major event in Nigeria, it will be declared opened by the Honourable Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Akinwunmi Adesina while the Ekiti State Governor will be the chief host.
About 200 delegates from the public and private sectors interested in partnering, investing and ensuring sustainable development of Ekiti fast growing agricultural and the national agro Industrial sector are expected to grace the forum.
The forum which will be a combination of High-level plenary sessions, Technical workshops, business market place, private public Dialogue and documentaries on Agribusiness sector will attract potential investors from Nigeria, Africa, Europe, America and Asia while farmer, both youths and existing commercial and small holders operators as well as donors, financiers/bankers, multinational and International Institutions are to participate.
Importance of youth participation in the Agriculture value chains will be highlighted at the forum while specific attention will be given to successful projects of the present administration in facilitating youths in commercial agriculture and driving private sector operations within the State and the Southwestern region.
