Members of E-11 – an association of Ekiti professionals were yesterday charged to maintain their apolitical status and see the overall
development of Ekiti State as their primary focus.
The charge was given by Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof Modupe Adelabu when representatives of the group visited her in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
According to her, members of the E-11 would be more relevant and respectable by keeping partisan politics at arms’ length Mrs. Adelabu noted that the caliber and pedigace of members of the group have made E-11 an enviable body, which every prominent citizen of Ekiti wants to belong.
The group, she said, provides a platform on which meaningful contribution could be made for the development of the state.
Urging the group to work hard and preserve the homogeneity of Ekiti, she advised to throw its door open for those willing to join it as
members, especially the committed and up-coming youths who are eager to contribute to the development of the state.
The deputy governor also called on the group to inform the people about the landmark achievement s of the Governor Kayode Fayemi
administration and offer constructive criticisms to keep the government on its toes.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the group; Mr. Femi Ajiniran commended Prof Adelabu for her diligence as the deputy governor.
Mr. Ajiniran, who said E-11 has been monitoring the activities of the deputy governor since she came on board, described her performance as superlative and that Ekiti people are really happy over her choice as Fayemi’s deputy.
He highlighted some of the activities lined up for the 10th anniversary of the group coming up this weekend to include a public
lecture entitled: “Ekiti in the past, present and the future.”
The E-11 leader also disclosed that, Governor Kayode Fayemi will also brief the people about his activities since assumption of office and his future plan for the Land of Honour State.
With him were: Ekiti State House of Assembly Committee on Education Dr Yinka Adeleye and Mr. Oscar Seyi Ayeleso.
