CSO Assures Partnership With Ekiti State Government

Civil Society Organisation of Nigeria (CSO) has promised to work in partnership and synergy with the state government in order to participate in d State developmental activities.

The Chairman, Civil Society Organisation of Nigeria Ekiti State Chapter, Sir Olu Ogunrotimi said this during d organisation’s courtesy visit to the office of d Permanent Secretary Ministry of Women Affairs , Social Development and Gender Empowerment.

Sir Ogunrotimi implored the government to make use of the local Civil society organisations in the state as a partner in progress so as to cover much ground. CSO promised to drive and mobilize several agencies where more dividends of democracy will go to the grassroot.

The CSO Chairman re-assured the Ministry of keying into human capital development (Social Investment) which is one of the four point agenda of the state government.

In her earlier remarks, the Permanent Secretary Min of Women Affairs ,Social Development and Gender Empowerment Mrs. Peju Babafemi, affirmed that the Ministry is the supervising Ministry for Civil Society Organisation of Nigeria which comprises all the NGOs in the State.

Mrs. Babafemi described CSO as a formidable sector in any Community where government runs well with their contributions since their purpose is to benefit humanity.

The P.S appreciated their input and steadfastness in their roles to play in the Social Investment Agenda of the government. She charged the CSO to map out Strategies and network for a good collaboration between them and the government to achieve great success.

She said that the meeting should be held biannually with the Ministry and the lists of all active NGOs should be presented in due course
