Ekiti to Commence Dredging of Water Ways in 8 LGAs

Dredging of water ways will soon commence in eight local Government areas of Ekiti State.
The State Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Barrister Paul Omotoso who made this known in Ado Ekiti, said the concerned local government areas include Ado Ekiti, Ikere, Ijero and Oye LGAs.
Others are Ekiti East, South West, Gboyin and Ilejemeje LGAs.   Barister Omotoso explained that Governor Fayemi approved the dredging of the waterways as part of efforts at curbing incessant flooding especially during the raining season.
In his remarks, the Caretaker Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Mr. Tope Olanipekun reiterated the commitment of the State Government to the safety of lives and property of the people.
He named the three dredging sites in Ado Ekiti as the Adere stream along NTA road, Ureje River along Omisanjana and the Igirigi road area-Polytechnic axis.
The LG boss appealed to people in the State to reciprocate government’s gesture by supporting efforts at developing the State.
