Boundary Commission
The Ekiti State Boundary Commission, Office of the Deputy Governor, Ado-Ekiti was established by Edict No 1of 2000 the context of which it works within.
COMMITTEE:- The Commission consists of two major Committees namely: The State Boundary Commission with the Deputy Governor of the State as the Chairman and the State Boundary Technical Committee with the Permanent Secretary Deputy Governor’s Office and the Chairman. The Office is headed by a Registered Surveyors who is the Secretary to the Commission.
AFFLIATED AGENCY: The Office of the Surveyor General is part of the technical arm of the Commission.
There are three departments in the Commission as follows:
- Office of the Secretary
- Administration and Supplies
- Finance and Accounts
- Surveyor/Technical Section
- Internal Auditor
The Office of the Surveyor General is part of the technical arm of the Commission
Vision:
To ensure the security of lives and properties of Communities in the boundary areas of the State and the State at large.
Our Mission
- To deal with intra and interstate boundary disputes with a view to resolving them.
- To monitor trans- border relations with neighboring states with a view to promote inter-community relationship
- To evaluate the developmental needs of border areas and advise government accordingly
- To carry out enlightenment campaign to create the general awareness among the public that boundaries are meant for administrative purposes and not barrier to interaction
- To encourage negotiated settlement of boundary disputes in preference to court action
- To carry out the demarcation of any resolved boundaries within the State.
- Demarcation of the consensus areas of Ekiti /Osun boundaries and resolution of the remaining sectors of the boundaries
- Demarcations of Ekiti/Kwara interstate boundaries
- To evaluate the developmental needs of border areas and advise government accordingly
- Resolution of intra state boundary disputes
