Fayemi Laments NULGE Boss, Others’ Death In Road Crash

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has expressed shock over the death of the Chairman of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ekiti State Chapter, Mr. Ayo Afolalu and three others in a road crash on Tuesday.
The Governor described the incident as a colossal tragedy for labour activism and the quest for better welfare for local government workers in the state.
Fayemi in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, said the death of the union leader and his aides has thrown the state into deep mourning.

He said Afolalu brought vibrancy into the leadership of NULGE which he noted has been one of the partners in the development of the grassroots in Ekiti.
He said, ”Without mincing words, their death has opened a fresh wound of mourning in our hearts and we are further pained by the circumstances in which they died.

”On behalf of the Government and the Good People of Ekiti State, I wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to the immediate families of the victims.
”Although they are now dead, their service to humanity will remain indelible in our hearts. I pray God to grant their immediate families and their communities the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
