Ikole-Ekiti Gets A Cassava Processing Industry

In its movement of building up the Industrial sector of the State, the Ekiti State Government has commissioned a cassava processing Industry in Ikole Ekiti.

The Honorable Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Otunba Reim Bodunrin who on behalf of the State Government commissioned the project said the vision was realized as a result of Dr. Kayode Fayemi’s commitment to industrialize the State.

Otunba Bodurin said the cassava industry was jointly put in place by Ekiti State Government and bank of Industry. He reiterated the commitment of Fayemi-led administration to create enabling environment for interested investors within and outside the State.

The Commissioner who assured entrepreneurs of more opportunities, business strategies, and financial assistance in the State said the government is interested in public private partnership for economic development.

Mr Bodunrin said Ekiti State Government is paying much attention to good roads to enable farmers carry their produce from farms settlement to cities for sale.

Mr Bodunrin appreciated the combined effort of the Egbe Oba prestige Club-Cooperative Multipurpose Society Ltd. that resulted to the siting of the Cassava processing Industry added that Quarry Industry would soon be sited in the locality as it is rich in granite deposit.

He said  the Cooperative Department is undergoing restructuring by the State Government under “Cooperative Data Analysis system” (C.O.D.A.S).

The Chairman Ikole Local Government, Hon. Adeniyi Aregbesola thanked the State Government, Bank of Industry and Ministry of Commerce,  Industry and Cooperatives for locating the Industry in the Local Government.

The Elekole of Ikole Ekiti, Oba Ajibade Fasiku expressed his appreciation to Ekiti State Government for the cassava Industry, saying that it will create job for people and enhance economic development amongst Egbe Oba Kingdom and Ekiti State as a whole.

The Representative of Bank of Industry, Mr. James Bello in his address commended Ekiti State Government and Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives for the efforts put in place to put Ekiti State among the leading States in industrial development.

The high point of the event was the commissioning of the cassava Industry by Otunba Reim Bodunrin. The equipment in the Industry include, the peeling Machine, Grating, Frying Machine to the final packing stage for sale.
