Law Against Stigmatization Of PLWHA To End Victimization

The Ekiti State AIDS Control Agency (EKSACA) Community Mobilization Officer, Mr. Remi Ajayi has said that the proposed law against stigmatization of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) will put an end to their victimization.

Speaking at the quarterly SACA/Line Ministries meeting held in Ado Ekiti,Mr. Ajayi said that the proposed bill to be forwarded to the State House of Assembly was already receiving the inputs of relevant stakeholders in the state.

He said other Policy documents were being put together in order to make people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) live freely without discrimination.

The Community Mobilization Officer also appealed to the members of the public to stop stigmatizing people living with HIV/AIDS.

He stressed that the disease was no longer life threatening due to the emergence of effective drugs.
