Monthly Sanitation Exercise Holds In Ekiti

The February edition of monthly environmental sanitation exercise will
hold on Saturday, 29th February, 2020 between 7am till 10am.

According to a press release from the Office of the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Gbenga Agbeyo, there would be restriction of movement during the exercise, except those duly identified as being on official assignments.

All top Government functionaries, Local Government Chairmen and
Security Agencies are expected to monitor the exercise.

Also, regular Sanitation in all market places as well as in all MDAs
would hold on Friday, 28th February, 2020.

The Theme for this month is; “Open defection is an invitation to epidemics, one house one toilet is the answer.”

The general public is hereby implored to clean the drainage in front of their houses, shops and dump their refuse properly.

However, Local Government Chairmen as well as all Environmental Health Officers in the Local Government Areas are to ensure that people come out and clean their environment during the exercise.
