Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities

The Ministry is divided into Department of Administration and Supplies, Department of Finance/Accounts, Department of Public Buildings, Department of Planning Research & Statistics, Department of Information & Communication Technology, and Operations Department.

Aggressive drive in the provision of social amenities in terms of Water and Sanitation, Rural Electrification, Construction and Maintenance of Public Buildings, and improved asset to Information and Communication Technology by Ekiti people

Our Mission

  • Formulation of State Water and Sanitation Policy;
  • Enact State Water and Sanitation Law;
  • Carry out Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) of Ero and Ureje Dams;
  • Replacement of old Water
  • Pipelines to new areas;
  • Produce and distribute water to the Public;
  • Collect water rates;
  • Maintain existing rural electrification facilities;
  • Identify new areas for electrification;
  • Procure and install more transformers as required;
  • Maintain existing public buildings;
  • Construct new public buildings as required;
  • Design web portals for the state;
  • Procure and install technical equipment for internet services access in the state;
  • Carry out feasibility studies for the construction of an airport in the state;

The Bureau of Information is saddled with the responsibilities of coordinating, over sighting, controlling, monitoring, appraising, among others, the activities of the relevant departments and agencies that have been statutorily placed under it.
