February 8, 2013

The newly elected Chairman of the Ekiti State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Elder Ayo Kumapayi, has called on the State Government to establish a medical centre for pensioners and the elderly in the state.

Elder Kumapayi who made the call during his acceptance speech and inauguration of a new state executive of the union, stressed that the gesture would further enhance the welfare of the elderly and would key into the State Government’s social security Scheme.
He however commended the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, for his concern for the elderly in the State which he said has engendered the monthly payment of allowances to old people who were not on regular pension.

Members of the State Chapter of the NUP had earlier elected Elder, Kumapayi, Chairman, Deacon Dapo Omotoso, Vice Chairman, Chief Ademola Araoye, Treasurer and Elder Tunde Erin, Auditor.
Other new members of the NUP executive are Prince Olu Arowosebe and Honourable Gabriel Faseemo who were elected as trustees of the union.

The executive will pilot the union for the next four years. Elder Kumapayi succeeds Chief Isreal Ayeni who has served two terms of four years each.
