Furtherance to the commitment of Ekiti State Government in encouraging academic excellence and alleviating the financial burdens of its brilliant students, the administration of Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji will award scholarship to qualified students who are already pursuing various courses in their second year and above in Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS IN NIGERIAN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS
PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
Applicant must be a bona fide student of a Tertiary Institution
NCE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
This award is for students in the 2nd year of the NCE/OND programme and candidates must have a minimum of 3.5 CGPA score in the previous examinations.
HEALTH TECHNOLOGY AND SCHOOL OF NURSING
Health Technology and School of Nursing CGPA scores are not applicable to Health and Medical related courses.
HND SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
All applicants must have a minimum of 3.5 CGPA in the previous examinations.
UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
All applicants for Undergraduate Scholarship must be in 2nd year or above, and must have at least 4.0 CGPA score in the previous examination.
POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
All applicants for postgraduate scholarship should have at least 2nd Class Upper Division at First Degree or Upper Credit at HND Level.
All applicants for Ph.D. Scholarship Award should have a First-Degree Certificate, not less than Second Class (Upper Division) and a grade of Distinction in Master’s Degree.
GUIDELINES ON APPLICATION
Advertisement for the scholarship Scheme is placed in electronics and print media by the Ekiti State Scholarship Board.
Each application form must be filled correctly on - line by the applicant and print - out must be verified with the Institution’s official stamp/seal clearly impressed on it.
Any application form not downloaded from the official Scholarship website for the year 2023/2024 Scholarship award is invalid.
The completed application form must contain the applicant’s current CGPA boldly written and authenticated by the Head of Department. The Registrar will confirm whether he/she is full time or a part time student.
The application form for bursary must be stamped and endorsed by the Chairman of the applicant’s Local Government Area.
The completed application form must be submitted within the stipulated period as contained in the advertisement.
Application forms are downloaded free of charge on-line at the Scholarship Board website: https://scholarship.ekitistate.gov.ng.
Late submission of form is not acceptable to the Board.
CONDITIONS FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
The Scholarship Award is for one academic year, it lapses if not utilised within the academic year of Award.
Scholars are not allowed to enjoy any other Government or corporate organisation scholarship concurrently with the Ekiti State Government Scholarship.
Scholar must devote his/her time to full time course for which the scholarship is awarded.
Scholars must conduct themselves as good ambassadors of Ekiti State.
The Scholarship may be terminated if the recipient fails to comply with any of the rules.
Any error or mistake made by the Board or discovered by the Board, particularly as a result of misinformation or misdirection of the Board shall be resolved in favour of the Board. The discretion of the Board on such issues shall take precedence over the Scholar’s interest.
(vii)The awardee cannot change his/her course of study, level or institution.
The duration of the award is one academic session.
All conditions specified in the letter of award shall form part of the rules contained in this document.
SCREENING PROCEDURE
To forestall fraud and/or impersonation, an applicant shall submit along with the application form, certified copies of the underlisted:
The current school fees payment receipts
Institution’s identification cards
Letter of identification from Head of Department
Certified transcript by the Registrar of the Institution.
Certified copies of credentials
Certificate of Local Government origin.
3 Years Tax Payment Certificate and Development Levy receipts of applicant’s parent.
ROLE OF STAKEHOLDERS
SCHOLARS
Scholars must maintain the high academic standard on the basis of which the Award is given.
Scholars can neither change institution, course nor level when benefitting from the award.
Scholars must be of good conduct throughout the duration of the award.
PARENTS
Parents of recipients should properly guide their children at home and in the school.
They should ensure that their wards make judicious use of the Scholarship Award.
They should encourage their students to maintain high academic standard in their institutions.
PRIVATE SECTOR
The private sector, philanthropists, organizations, corporate bodies and foreign partners should continue to complement Ekiti State Government’s efforts by granting scholarship to brilliant and/or indigent students of Ekiti State origin.
TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS
The Tertiary Institutions should ensure prompt processing of the forms sent to them.
LOCAL GOVERNMENT
The Local Government should continue to support her indigenes by collaborating with the State Government on provision of Bursary Awards.
